The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

What a wonderful week I've had with lots of family fun! Jason is finally done with school for this semester, which means he's mentally around much more! It's been so nice. Judah and Jocelyn went to visit Santa for the first time. Jason got the cutest video of Judah talking all about the trains that he wants for Christmas. On the way home Jason told Judah that Christmas was Jesus' birthday. This isn't the first time we've talked with Judah about the real meaning, but he's not so thrilled to talk about Jesus. He keeps reminding us of all the presents that Santa is going to bring him. I looked at Jason and said i think we have a lot of work to do!

This past Saturday I put on a Free toy day at our church for our community. With the help of many, i was able to gather a room FULL of toys and give them all away for free. I was blown away by all the toys which we were able to collect. We had so many gently used toys it was amazing. Many helped spread the word and we were able to help 20 families put TONS of toys under their Christmas tree.

The most common response from people who came through the door was " is this really free?" it was so great to say yes, and to tell them to take whatever they need or want! I found it also great that we didn't hand out any flyer's about our church or really even talk about it unless asked. The first meeting with our church for all these families was free toys with no strings attached. SO GREAT! All 20 families had never set foot on our campus before. What a great way to get word out about the love of Christ. Free toys!

Thanks for all who helped by giving toys, setting up, and helping that day! It was a huge success and I'm looking forward to next year!
