98 is Precious

Yesterday I had the privilege of going over to Colfax, WA to visit the most precious lady, my great grandmother.

My mom and I decided we should go visit her. She has had the flu and pneumonia and been in the hospital twice this month. Knowing she is 98 and understanding we probably don't have much time left with her, we made the 5-6 hour drive east to where she is. Sweet, peppy, and very witty woman was very happy to have visitors to pass the time.

We arrived and put our things in the hotel then went and spend 1 hour with grandma, let her rest, and came and spend 2 hours having dinner with her. We bought 4 different flavors of little 1/2 cup ice cream and had a little ice cream party! All 3 of our favorite was the raspberry sorbet!

As we were leaving the first afternoon i saw a white board empty. So i decorated it with her grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids name! I told her when she got up out of the chair to walk the hall for physical therapy she would be reminded that all of us love her and are cheering her on!

After the first evening we went to leave and mom asked if we could pray for grandma. She was thrilled. A couple things from just that 5 minute prayer were very evident.

Immediately when mom starting praying for grandma she started speaking in tongues. It was precious and tears immediately formed in my eyes. Not but 2 seconds it took her to enter the presence of her savior. amazing.

This is a woman who doesn't go to church anymore for the only fact that it takes to much energy to get out of the house. She hasn't had a preacher preach to her in i'm not sure how long, and she hasn't been to a church worship service in a very long time. She couldn't remember when.

In an instant, she was at the feet of Jesus.

Amazing.

Wish i could immediately wipe away all that was happening and in a moment realize, really nothing matters except being with Jesus and thanking Him for all he has done.

This weekend was truly amazing.

Best giggle moment....
Grandma told us about a doctor she had that was so adorable. She said in a quick moment, "maybe if i was 96 he'd go for me!" We all laughed. The other Dr that was in the room said, "well Zola, he's married with children already." And before we could say anything she said "Well that doesn't matter!"

We laughed so hard!!

P.S
Thank you to my wonderful hubby for allowing me in a spur of the moment to head over there this weekend! He was willing to take the kids to church Sunday all by himself, which has never happened, being a pastor is difficult! Also, thank you to Jason's mom, who bailed him out and watched the kids over night! :) Gotta love family!
