Fall Reflections

Fall is upon us. In the Seattle area it's impossible to not feel it today.
Blustery
Rainy
Windy
Wonderful
Fall is my favorite time of the year. Home made food cooking all day. Candles burning filling the house with a wonderful sent. Reading books on the couch to the kids. A time to slow down and soak up all the goodness of this short life.

Today as we were waiting for Judah to get off the bus it was very windy. Jocelyn found 3 puddles (She thinks because she's 3 :) ) and was jumping and loving life as a toddler.

I couldn't help but think fall is such a great time for God to cleanse us. It's no secret that most churches see a huge rise in attendance during the fall. Schedules are set and seems people make the time for their relationship with God a priority. Which is great.

I think God wants us to have the season- fall in our hearts too.
Stick with me.

The shedding of dead leaves....
Racking leaves, putting them in the waste basket to never be seen again...
Wind blowing so you can physically feel fall is here...
Rain to come and cleanse away all impurities....

Seems God is most near when parts of our lives are stripped away.

When baggage of the past is given up...
When relationships are mended...
When his presence is so palpable you can stand in the wind and feel his presence surround you...
When you shed tears of longing to the point you are so empty the only thing left is for God to fill..

Today i am there.

Giving up my baggage
Relationships mended
I felt the wind so strong it had to be God's arms around me
There are no more tears to shed, the only thing left is for God to fill me up.

For God to be my everything.

Fall is here.
Fall is wonderful.
I think i'll soak up this season outside these windows and inside my heart.
