Glimpse of Jesus

SO! Today started out wonderful! Happy cheerful children, even slept in a little bit. 6:30am! Wow, i know! As the morning went on Judah really wanted out of the house so we went to the library with Kelly and her kids. Had fun then went to her house for lunch. Mac & Cheese, one of Judah's favorites!

Now stop! here is a little background on my man Judah!

Since he was a baby he's had eating issues! Getting him off of baby food was something i seriously thought would NEVER happen. When i introduced new textures to him he about lost it. well, he did i guess, several times! It took forever to get him to eat things that weren't perfectly "Gerber smooth"! :) And ever since then, he has always had issues with food. If your PB&J sandwhich isn't cut the exact way that mommy cuts it, it must be terrible, there fore i won't eat it! And we won't even go into the type of jam that goes on it, raspberry or strawberry only!

So, it came time for lunch, and it was mac & Cheese, i thought great, Judah loves this, he'll eat it. Well, he's never been one to want to eat at other people's houses, he always wants to play. that's fine, he's a boy! It's what they do, play hard then eat when they find the time. But it was lunch and i've been really working with getting him to eat what is prepared and don't throw a fit. If he throws a fit, he gets a spanking. Well, he threw a fit! Go figure! he's been doing great at home, eating most everything i've prepared for dinner, but going out is still a battle! Needless to say i left my sisters house with Judah crying because he got a spanking and Jocelyn crying because Judah slammed her fingers in the door. What an afternoon!

So we cam home and i put Jocelyn to bed and Judah was reading books quietly on the couch, super sweet. I went to my twitter and i follow MaryBeth Champan. Steven Curtis Chapman's wife. She is amazing. They lost their daughter last year and i follower her blog. I went to a post that she wrote as her christmas letter last year. In it she wrote about losing Marie and answered the question "would you have done things differnetly." She said something that made me look at my sweet little man so different. MaryBeth said she would certainly done things differently! She would have hugged her more, kissed her more, ate more icecream, played more, stayed up late and the list went on and on.

I looked at my sweet Judah Timothy, which means praises honoring God, and i just cried. I realiazed that he looks at food differenly that we do. yes, there are times when i need to force him to eat, but 9 times out of 10 he is ok and will eat when he is ready. I need to take a step back and revel in the fact that this little guy is 3 years old already and soon will be off to school and making friends and so on.

I had a total God moment! Realizing that Jesus, who loves me, gave me Judah for an amount of time which i don't know. And I need to do the best i can, and leave the rest to him. Judah will eat, and althought that moment at my sisters seemed to have ruined my day, so i thought. It may just have made our afternoon all that sweeter!

  1. I thought when you left I should pray for Judah's life... you were pretty mad! Understandably!!! Your blog was eye opening and encouraging. I often have been to the limit and that was a good reminder of how precious my time is with the little guys! Thanks!
