Breast Center

So today was the day.

I worked from 7pm last night to 6am this morning. Came home, slept till 11am then went to the hospital for my ultrasound of my left breast. (a little weird to write a blog about this...)

Sitting in the waiting room i was noticeably the youngest person there. Which didn't provide any sort of comfort for me. So i just waited for my name to be called and checked Facebook on my iphone.

The ultrasound was done and the technician didn't see anything so the radiologist came in to look herself. There was no lump, that we knew. But i was hoping for some reason such as an inflamed sweat glad or old milk duct to be the source of my pain. Neither they saw.

So i came away from my appointment with peace that there was nothing found but still an uncertainty in my heart that something isn't right. This pain has persisted for 2 months now--going on 3.

The radiologist talked to me about my history, age, and family history and came up with a plan. I was to go home, Watch the pain and site for another month and then we will proceed to a mammogram. The mammogram will be able to catch small calcifications which could be the source of the pain, for which the ultrasound can not catch. She went into detail about how small calcifications which are hard to catch are the start of breast cancer...then my mind ventured off into terrified land!

I am only 28, the chances of me having breast cancer are slim.  I have no family history of breast cancer. But the thing that stands out is i had a large tumor removed from this same breast. So i'm looking into the pain for this reason.

Thanks for the support, and the little nudges along the way to get this checked out.  Looking forward to spending this month focused on family and enjoying our trip to Disney World!

Thanks for the prayers!
