Judah Timothy Deuman

Dear Judah.

Tomorrow you will be 5. I don't even know where the time has gone. You have grown up into such a sweet little man. You have gained an independence this year in your attitude and words. Often times needing shaping from your daddy and I, but you have a voice. I am proud of the voice you have.

Already at the age of 5 you are tender toward Jesus. 2 nights ago you asked that the monsters wouldn't be in your room. So you decided to pray that Jesus would stay with you all night. And you woke up the next morning, remembering your prayer and thanked Jesus he was with you. Your love for the Lord brings me to tears. So unashamed you are of the presence he plays in your life.

You just got glasses. You are so precious in them. I think they were harder for me than you. Watching people stare at you hasn't even phased you, just me. You are so sweet to everyone who comments on them, nice or rude. You are sweet.

This fall you start Kindergarden. I'm so scared. You are thrilled. We drive past your school and you always say how excited you are to make friends. I'm terrified. You are growing up so big. This world can be so hurtful. But you embrace everyone and anyone who is willing to listen to your stories on trains and how fast they can go. You love everyone just the way they are.

I have a feeling i need to protect you in all things. I want to go to school with you in the fall. Make sure the kids are nice. Make sure you always have a friend. But i know there will be times when you are made fun of because you are who God made you to be. I know there will be times when kids won't want to play with you or hear your sweet stories of trains and how their horns are so loud. This i know. But your daddy and i have prayed and we understand you are a child of God. And we know you are safe in his arms.

I am the most proud a mother could be. You are everything i ever wanted in a son and more. I'm so thankful God saw fit for you to be in our home.

You are perfectly made in the image of God. I pray this summer that is imbedded in your heart and soul and that you continue to stand strong on the faith in God you have.  I am also praying that there will be a little boy in your class that has glasses too. :)
