Put it on!

Sunday's sermon was like a blow horn in my ear! It shook me. It woke me up. And it made me run to my Bible today. (You can hear it tomorrow on the Podcast at www.thecreeksidechurch.org)

Why you ask?

Read here:
"Therefore, put on every piece of God's armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness." Ephesians 6:13-14 (NLT)

Dad camped on the piece of scripture that said to put it on.
It does not say "receive" God's armor.
It is clear in saying we have to put it on. We have to go after the armor. We have to read our Bible. We have to pray. We have to be in a community that builds us up. We are the carriers of the armor. At anytime we can set our armor down. At any time we can be susceptible to the enemies attacks.

The only way to fight against the enemy is to stay in the Word of God.
Be on guard at all times.

As mentioned yesterday, the enemy does not know us personally, so he shoots arrows at us in all sorts of directions until he finds ones that sticks. Until he finds one that gets past our armor.

If that does not make you run to your bible to soak up all the armor God so lovingly left to us, i don't know what will.

The bible is power. Use it against the enemy and his tempting ways.

Gossip an issue? go to the Word
Lust? Go to the Word
Slander? Go to the Word
Insecurity? Go to the Word

Hint: Go to the Word
