A time of rest. A time of adventure. A time to be family.
When spring break goes anything but as planned what do we do? When sickness of Judah comes in it caused our family to pause.
We put a 500 piece puzzle together around the kitchen table for 3 days.
We laugh.
We tell each other "good job" and "i think i can help you find a place for that piece."
We sit for what seems minutes but in reality is hours.
We are together.
We play legos.
We built bases and castles and attack one another.
We crush each other castles and build more castles to fight again.
But this time with ships and airplanes and places to hold extra men.
Attacking new ways is fun.
Imagination at it's finest.
We are together.
So today is thursday and we have yet to leave the house.
We aren't bored.
My kids understand rest and the need to lay low.
We build margin into our life for moments of rest and moments of stillness.
We read.
We play video games and are joyful at new levels passed.
I'm writing this down because i needed this rest.
Maybe even more than my children.
Yet i didn't know i did.
Currently my heart is smiling.
Jocelyn put a ballerina costume on and has the radio turned on and is dancing in her room.
Judah is making star wars ships and carrying on in only missile noises.
These are my joy filled days.
The noises.
The movement through the house.
Together is the best of all.
